This series is a collection of drawings, paint media, and papers, arranged as an exploratory series about the deeper expressions of the self that goes beyond skin and clothes and makes visible what is normally invisible. This new body of work explores the tension between control and loss of control, between the complicated aspects of the self that push and struggle and pull apart. Through the cutting and ripping and layers and mediums, this work explores what is the “self,” what it looks like to see someone in wholeness, not just on their skin and clothes, wheelchairs or skin color, disability, gender or age.  All pieces are between 11″x 14″ and 20″x 24″ in size.
